Aku Louhimies’ historic War Drama leaves behind Star Wars and Bond movies

The film crossed the magical half a million viewers mark during its third week in the theaters

UNKNOWN SOLDIER, the biggest Finnish production of all time, drew 170,213 viewers to the preview screenings and the premiere weekend. It's the biggest domestic opening weekend of all time for a Finnish film.

In celebration of Finland’s centenary year, the production company Elokuvaosakeyhtiö Suomi 2017, the distributor SF Studios, the Finnish movie theaters, the Finland 100 Years organization established in the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Saastamoinen Foundation that has supported the effectiveness program of Unknown Soldier wish to provide our war veterans the opportunity to see Unknown Soldier by Aku Louhimies, premiering on October 27, 2017 free of charge. This initiative has been carried out in cooperation with the veteran organizations.

The music composed by the film composer Lasse Enersen and recorded with the Lahti Symphony Orchestra is heard in the trailer for the film which premieres on October 27, 2017.

The first trailer for Unknown Soldier by Aku Louhimies, shot in 2016–17, has just been released.

The recording of the music for UNKNOWN SOLDIER is currently taking place in Lahti.
